Driven by Impact, Built on Code.
I'm Polat Efe Kaya, a developer focused on architecting robust backend systems and creating high-quality software that solves real-world problems. My goal isn't just to write code, but to build durable, scalable, and impactful products from the ground up.

My Journey
My path into software development was a deliberate pivot from a formal education in Mathematics. This analytical foundation gave me a unique perspective on problem-solving, which I now apply to software architecture and system design. I am largely self-taught, driven by a relentless curiosity and a passion for the craftsmanship of software engineering.
I thrive on the challenge of building complex systems. From designing microservices with .NET to orchestrating infrastructure with Kubernetes and Istio, I am deeply invested in every layer of the stack. This hands-on experience has been honed through two years of freelance development, where I've learned to deliver production-ready solutions that meet stringent business requirements.
My Philosophy
Clean Architecture & DDD
I believe that well-structured code is maintainable code. I am a strong proponent of Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to manage complexity, separate concerns, and create systems that are adaptable to future changes.
Pragmatism over Dogma
While I value established patterns, I believe the best solution is one that fits the problem. I choose technologies—whether it's EF Core for rapid development or Dapper for raw performance—based on the specific needs of the project, not just trends.
Full-Stack Ownership
A great backend is only as good as the experience it enables. My skills in React and infrastructure tooling allow me to take ownership of a product's full lifecycle, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality result from database to UI.
Beyond The Code
When I'm not at my keyboard, I enjoy the creative outlets of photography and design, finding new perspectives through a camera lens. I'm also passionate about film cinematography and enjoy cycling and swimming to stay active. Feel free to reach out to discuss technology, projects, or potential collaborations.
